Tasmeya Khokhar is a Muslim writer with a background in Psychology and several years of experience working in the mental health sector. After stepping away from her career to raise her three daughters, she found her way back to a lifelong love for writing, a love she once believed she had lost.
For many years, dyslexia and self doubt kept Tasmeya silent, convincing her that writing was not meant for her. It was during her third pregnancy that she chose to slow down, learn, and give herself permission to try again. Writing became a space of healing, reflection, and purpose. After the birth of her youngest daughter, she began to write more intentionally and discovered a deep calling to support Muslims preparing for marriage.
Tasmeya believes that marriage is more than a milestone. It is an amanah, a sacred trust from Allah, and a partnership that requires intention, emotional understanding, and continuous growth. She is passionate about helping couples begin their marriages with honesty and faith, believing that strong families are built when foundations are set with care. By encouraging important conversations before marriage, she hopes to play a small part in strengthening the Muslim ummah.
Rooted in Islamic values and shaped by real life reflections and thoughtful research, Tasmeya wrote The Journey To Us to support couples before they say I do. Her approach is gentle yet honest, creating space for the conversations many couples wish they had earlier about communication, expectations, finances, intimacy, purpose, and growth.
With a tone that is warm, respectful, and relatable, her work aims to normalize meaningful premarital dialogue while keeping Allah at the center. This guide is written for couples who want to prepare not just for a wedding day, but for a marriage filled with mercy, friendship, intentional love, and barakah.”
